Clubs & Extracurricular activitiesFor the past four years, high school has had its ups, and its downs. I was involved in my fair share of clubs and/or extracurricular activities. My most favored activity that I have been doing my whole life, would have to be football. I've had a passion for this game because it has gotten me through some of the hardest times and things through my life. It hurts that I couldn't play this last season, my Senior year. But I'm really grateful that I had the opportunity to play and go through such an eye opening sport. The game has forever changed the way I handle situations, relationships and respect, even when it's not easy it can be done. Another class that I took, which I would consider it extracurricular, is Leadership/ASB. This has been the best experience because I've gotten to meet some really cool people, tried a lot of new things and help out alot with the school functions. During my Junior year, I was in a club called my strength or my voice. The objective of the club was to prevent domestic abuse and to let the victims know that its okay to speak out. I really loved the people i met while joining this club. They were really kind and you could tell that they were taking the club very seriously, which is the right thing to do for such a huge problem. In April of my Junior year, I joined a play for the Lindsay Community Theater.
Football
By far, I will miss football the most out of anything I did during my four years of high school. I've never had so much fun with so many great people. I love the game because it turns nice men off the field, into mean nasty and all around savage men on the playing field. At times taking me out of my comfort zone, I loved every minute of it. It has always been the greatest feeling in the world to play a game with a great group of guys. I tend to take football a lot more seriously than most of my friends. But my dad raised me my into football. I grew up playing flag, when he coached me on the Seahawks. It has always been around from as long as I can remember. And its really hard to say that ill most likely never play tackle football the rest of my life, but that's just how it is. I may have to physically say goodbye, but I can assure you... My Love for the game will live on! My voice, My strengthI joined My Voice, My strength club my Junior year around March. I had a friend that was in the club at the time so I just started going to the meetings. After a couple meeting, Shawn the advisor of the club, invited me to join. So I did, and I had a lot of fun, made more friends. I have a great memory of a time when we hosted a "Walk a mile in her shoes" activity at lunch. We brought in tons of red and black high heels for the boys to rock! We had to walk around the quad two times. The concept of the club is to stop domestic violence. I really liked doing this and getting involved in such a positive club with such a great intention. I like being able to say that I was apart of such a great club.
Leadership/ASBMy very first year bing in ASB was my Junior year. At the begginning of the school year I wasnt in the class. But as time progressed, Mrs. Gonzales actively tried to get me into the class. Sooner or later, I finally passed Biology and had more room for an elective, I made that elective ASB. Even before I was in high school, I remeber my cousin telling me all the time about how much fun he had in high school, because of ASB. And even at Tulare Union, I had hopes and dreams of joining ASB. Unfortunately, at Union you had to be an upperclassmen to be in ASB. Im really glad i was able to join at LHS. The people ive met out here and the memories will always have a place in my heart.
ActingI would say that I've been a character my whole life. I've always loved making people laugh and smile. When I joined my first play in March of my Junior year, I knew that pretty soon the stage would be mine. I wouldve never imagined myself getting the lead role in my very first play! But I did and it was incredible! I had such an amazing experience while performing! Its led to tons of new friendships, more memories and even a special relationship. I will never forget this adventure, it was challenging of course, but we all worked together and had three big nights! I remeber going into my first performance, I had the first scene and man was I terrified. I could hear my heart beating uncontrolably as I was ready for the curtain to open. I messed up on my first scence of the first showing of the play. It was embarassing, but luckily, I had a really smart and helpful partner that hapened to be on stage with me. She helped me get my lines out, and as soon as I got out of the brainfart I found myself in, the lines came back to me. I had the greatest time making the play, rehersals are some of the funnest places to be. I can absolutley see myself acting in the future, maybe next time tho... It will come with a paycheck!!!
